Dr. Tobias Kohler, a professor of urology at the Mayo Clinic in the US, and Dr. Marco Capece who is a professor of urology at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy recently visited Dr. Park to observe his inflatable implant surgery under local anesthesia and to have in-depth discussions on surgical approaches
Dr. Kohler is currently the president-elect of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, and Dr. Capece is an educational committee member of the European Society for Sexual Medicine. After observing the surgery, they discussed about subcoronal approach, local anesthesia and other unique aspects of IPP surgery in Korea
Every country has their own unique steps of surgery originating from medical environmental differences and Dr. Park’s surgical steps have several distinction as well. These points were discussed in depth.
As a recently appointed executive director of prosthetics for KSSMA, Dr. Park hopes to further popularize penile implant surgery by working with other sexual medicine societies throughout the world
